Cancel culture is a “parasite”, according to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Justin Welby makes a defence of free speech in an updated edition of his book Reimagining Britain, which was first released in 2018.

He has added passages that criticise the way Britain is run, praise the Black Lives Matter movement for shedding “disturbing light”on British history, and cast doubts over whether “exclusively British values” really exist.

The revised edition also assesses the impact to date of the pandemic, describing 2020 as a time when “the four riders of the apocalypse seem to be on overtime”.
