On November 4, 2022, the Attorney-General, the Hon Mark Dreyfus MP, asked the ALRC to recommend reforms to the law to implement the government’s policy commitment to a religious discrimination bill that is consistent with Australia’s international legal obligations.
On January 27, 2023, the ALRC released its Consultation Paper for the Inquiry with Submissions to the review closing on February 24, 2023.
